What are the pros/cons of these older models?

1971 Buick Electra 225 65k

1979 Buick Limited 59k

1985 Cadillac Seville 59k

Looking for a weekend cruiser and light travel car on occasion.

Looking for advice on comfort, drive/ride feel, and dependability/ease of ownership/maintenance. Thanks

the 71 will be the nicest car to drive, still lots of parts available , cheap... hard on gas though if you get 20mpg you are doing good.

the 79 will be nice too but not as soft going over the bumps, the 79 probably has a buick 350 engine and it is a good engine as well, still lots of parts available cheap and you can do most of your fixes in the back yard

the caddillac is going to be fuel injected, and toward the smaller end of the scale for luxury cars, so not as nice of a ride,be aware

Avoid the 4.1 litre engine otherwise known as the 4100

it is a piece of junk, the v-4-6-8 had their fair share of problems as well but that is easier to fix with a trip to a Cadillac dealer.

I myself have a76 pontiac bonneville, about the same size as the 71 electra, these are beautiful cars to drive, and are longer than extended cab chev truck, lots of room for imagination on paint , rims and customizing.

good luck on your choice, I love big cars

get the 71 as that will make a nice cruise car if you want to go to car cruises and will have the softest ride of the 3 and will be easy to work on, the only con is it uses a lot of gas like any old big car.
