Ford Focus- Reprogramming PATS key?

I have a 2007 Focus..and stupidly lost my flip key. I bought a new one, got it cut and tried to program the key.

I was able to program the key to lock and unlock the doors but I can't get it to disable the immobiliser.

When I insert the two coded keys then the uncoded key, it will start the engine, but the light on the dash continues to flash rapidly with the new key.

When I then exit the programming stage, the key fails to operate.

Does anyone have a walkthrough on how to program the key or know what i'm doing wrong???

I want to cover every option before handing my cash over to Ford.

Thanks in advance...

If you want to add a key....

**You must have two original keys to perform this procedure. If you only have one key, you WILL have to take it to the dealer to get it programmed**

1. Insert and existing (working) key into the ignition cylinder.

2. Turn the ignition cylinder ON (RUN) and back to OFF. Ignition should stay on for at least ONE SECOND.

3. Remove the existing key and, within TEN seconds, insert a second working key and turn it to ON (RUN) and the back OFF. Ignition must be in ON for at least ONE second, but no more than TEN seconds. Remove the key.

4. Insert the new key before TWENTY seconds have elapsed and turn it to ON (RUN). Leave it the ON position for at least ONE second and turn back to OFF.

5. The security light will light up for THREE seconds to indicate that the new key has been successfully programmed.

6. To program additional keys, repeat steps 1 through 5

while the previous answer is correct note there are a fixed number of times you can program a key for any one vehicle. I think in Ford's case it is 9.
Reply:if the answers below dont sort it,DONT,take it to ford..try a car dealer/seller...these blokes have most likley done it in the past and may help you for a fee, cant see themdoing it for nothing but it will be cheeper than ford....
Reply:Try a company called injection correction, it will cost around 50 pounds to get it recoded
