Once a frame is bent on a 2002 Honda CRV, is it still good?

Has anyone had any experience with having have car frame "straightened" - and told it is just as good as un-bent? I have always understood bent frames are never good as new. Easier to re-damage in that area? Lose value to vehicle? I would very much appreciate any advice.

If it was in a good frame shop, I can't see a problem.

once it gets bent, it weakens the spot where it got bent, and besides i had a guy tell me once, who worked at a collesion shop, once the are straightened, they arent the same as before.
Reply:A good "frame shop" with right equipment can get it back to factory specifications, -- however some slight "wrinkling" may be apparent, as metal stretches when bent and deformed! Yes there will be a little difference in value, - because people are scared of cars that have been damaged! I know a guy that hit a tree going around 50 mph, and pickup was written off as totaled by insurance company. Howevwer it was given to him by his father just before he died (about a year earlier), - It had around 25,000 miles on it, and had engine probelms before wreck -- he spent a little over $12,000 getting it fixed up like new, - including new engine and front differential and transfer case! Now 12 years later, it still looks like showroom new, and drives like new too,-- I have driven it several times, and it is really first class! The guy is now almost blind so no longer drives it himself! (Glaucoma)! Only way possible to tell it is one that was wrecked--, is to get underneath and look at frame, couple small wrinkles apparent on right side at front of cab, -- I saw it after wreck, and frame was bent almost 90 degrees (sideways) right there! It now has close to 90,000 on it!

So if done right, it will drive right,-- and you can drive it till it dissolves! ...Nobody will ever know the difference, - unless you tell them! And after it goes through "the crusher" at end it wil be "all wrinkles" anyway!
Reply:it will never be good as new because its like a paper clip if you make it straight then bend it back it wont work like a paper clip nor will it look the same it will work but wont be back to perfect and it will bring value down and it will also be weaker int hat area
