I put the key in and turned it, nothing. No click. No attempt to turn over. Nothing. Electrical? Help.
2001 Beetle won't start. It's not the battery cuz I checked that. One day it was fine and the next nothing.
if all warning lights come on it may be something with ignition switch. If its manual could be neutral saftey switch not engaging. You know like if the clutch is not pushed in all the way some cars wont start. I would cross a screwdriver across starter if you can locate it

If your solenoid is gone, it will do that. The starter is suppose to wait till the solenoid engages. But if the solenoid is completely dead, you get nothing - not even a click. You get clicks if the solenoid is good (click) and the starter is bad.
Good Luck...
P.S. that's assuming your battery is really good. Are you sure?
Reply:Jump the Battery Cable at the Starter Solenoid to the Starter, Does the Starter Turn? Check the Wiring harness at the Ignition Block/Module. Check if Ignition Wires at Starter Solenoid are Secure.
Reply:I would questions in this order. First, do headlights work? Did you take the battery and get it load tested. Sometimes a battery can handle the load to run lights and a radio but can't handle the amperage required by a starter. Second, check your cables running from the battery. Be sure there is no acid build up and are tight on the posts. If all this is fine you should be getting a starter solenoid click which you said you are getting nothing. So the solenoid would be the next to check. By the way, most auto parts places will take and do a load check for you.
