01 bmw x5 air contol switch not working? please help!!?

I just bought a used 01 bmw x5 3.0. I tried turning on the ac and nothing is working. No air is coming out of the vents. This is my first bmw and i have no idea were to start. Any idea or suggestion would be great. Thanks
