Does the ECM/Computer on a 1993 honda civic have anything to do with the Compressor not working?

I took my 1993 honda civic dx 1.5 motor 5-speed to a place that just works on honda cars. I was was having A/C trouble they said it was the ECM/Computer not sending a signal to the compressor and kicking it in. People I have talked to on this matter have never heard of this before! I was wanting to know if anybody can make sence of this or heard of this before? The rest of my car works great that would be connected to the same computer.

It could be the problem. not hard hard wiring it. But make sure you double check everything. All fuses clutch connections ...everything.

ECM does not control AC u prob hav a bad switch high or low pressure switch
Reply:Have a a/c tech check your system. In many cars, if your refrigerant level is low, the compressor will not engage. This protects your compressor. Your Honda may be a bit old for this failsafe, but get it checked.
Reply:I do know that the ecm will cut out the compressor under certain conditions, full throttle, etc. So it's possible that could be the problem. If you trust these guys, let them fix it. At least you should get a guarantee. Good luck.
