What all do i need to rebuild an engine???

I am thinking about switching my engine in my car to a 350 Chevy. I am just wondering if I rebuild it, what all will i need to buy. I just want an overview on what parts I will need. I know i need pistons, pushrods, headers, etc. If you can help me out on all the parts I need on a complete rebuild.
What all do i need to rebuild an engine???
wat car do you have?

You need much more than parts. You need experience and skill. That's not something you just pick up on by just rebuilding an engine.

I would suggest goto a pro that does just engine builds - or get a crate engine. Crate engines comes from the factory all ready to install.

Good Luck...
Reply:Your best bet to getting the answers you need is to go to your local parts store, or even the library, and find the book "How to Rebuild Small Block Chevys", or even better, to get the book "How to Hot-rod Small Block Chevys". It will have EVERYTHING you need to rebuild. Plus all the small tips and tricks that will make your rebuild a great success.
Reply:The only thing you need to buy in an engine rebuild is main bearings, connection rod bearings, piston rings and a seal power or some kind of engine gasket set. as well as honing out the cylinder walls
Reply:go to a parts house and get a rebuild kit it comes with everything get a manual to it will tell you what tools to use
Reply:You really can't tell until you go into an engine. Overhaul kits are produced which is the minimum of what you need. You will also need a good machine shop to magnaflux the heads and check for cracks and machine the engine heads. If you have a second car and this is a hobby you want to try then it's a good learning process. Be sure you have a good overhaul manual. Pay attention as it is important that if you dissasemble the pistons, push rods etc that you keep everything numbered and in order as it is critical everything go back in the same place.
