Mitsubishi Eclipse problem...?

i Own a 96 mitsibishi eclipse spyder-gs as of 2 weeks now and out of no where when i go to start my car in the morning i cant enter any gears.... i can only be in neutral...even when applying decent pressure the stick will not engage and when i slightly move the stick down to reverse the gears grind immidiately...so basically the car cannot move... i figure first thing to check would be the transmission fluid but its not labeled...can anyone give me a decent description of where i put in the transmission fluid and what type i need? thank you
Mitsubishi Eclipse problem...?
fluid reservoir for clutch. if empty, you have a leak.
Mitsubishi Eclipse problem...?
You have a manual tranny. Manual trannies do NOT have a dipstick. They have to be inspect by lifting the car and removing the filler bolt.

Your clutch is worn or if this problem happened very suddenly without months of warning, your hydraulic clutch need servicing.

good luck...
Reply:If you have a stick shift, open hood and look for the clutch master cylinder NOT THE BRAKE CYLINDER. If you cant find it or not sure have someone that knows show you. If the cylinder is low you have a leak and you may need to have the trans removed to replace the hydrolic throw out.

some do have external throw out cylinder, then lucky you.

If you have a automatic with overdrive, the transmission is toast by now. Find a good trans guy or dealer where the trans mechanic has at least 10yrs experiance, those auto trans are a major pain, the manual aint no fun either

good luck
