Car Air Conditioning Problem?

I have a 2004 Hyundai Elantra GT, It has about 65K Miles...

Today was a very hot day, when I went to turn on the AC, it blew hot air at first then blew out not really cold air not even cool, just air. I am not sure what the problem is that is causing this to happen, could it be because it was 100 degrees out?

Also, how can I fix this problem from home?
Car Air Conditioning Problem?
it was 100+ out

and make sure you set your HVAC in your car on "Recirculation". (not fresh or not outside air)

this keeps the cold air inside and re-cools it again.

probably needs recharging. Sometimes seals need replacing as well. go to a reputable A/C authorized repair shop
Reply:well, if it was 100 outside, then it was 120 inside ur car, if the windows were rolled up....ok, the a/c removes heat from the inside the car by moving the air across a evaporator core....it takes time dude.....ok, picture this, u go to the store and buy a hot 12 pack of beer.....you put it in the ice box......after 5 mins is it cold?...no......takes time....same with a car....pop the hood, look at the big a/c hose...if it is wet, then ur a/c is ok, it was just hot outside......
