Could a muffler mechanic replace the rubber intercooler pipes with aluminum pipes?

How much would they charge to bend all the pipes?

How much would it cost?

The car is a Volvo S80 T6, wanting to boost more.

Often parts on a car are made of rubber to take the vibration and the movement.

If you ever notice with the hood up, when you gas your car, the engine will slightly pivot. That is also the reason why the AC line in home AC are all made of metal, yet on a car they are made of RUBBER.

So I suspect that you can get a pro to bend some pipes for you (especially if you want to spend $$$), but you should really research if that is a good idea.

IMHO.

Good Luck...

I'm not too sure they could bend aluminum pipes, but I bet they could set you up with some stainless steel pipe. Make sure you get them mandrel bent, so there aren't any creases in the bends. Should cost anywhere from 100 to 600 dollars depending on how long it takes and how much pipe you need
Reply:The rubber is there because of vibration and movement . You will not gain any power by going to a straight pipe. If you want more boost , why not look at a bigger turbo , better exhaust , a chip for the ecu , better intercooler, new fuel pump, and a little more time understanding how it all works.
Reply:"WHY??" Neoprene hose is a, for lack of other words a "Vibration Isolator" to protect the Inter-Cooler from the Vibrations of the Turbo!!
