95 full size bronco fuel gauge?

fuel gauge is marking pass full not moving , friend told me change the fuel level sending unit but dont know could i change it thru the cargo area or do i have to drop the tank?

I keep telling my self the next time I have to change a fuel pump or a sending unit I'm going to create an access door above the sending unit of the tank.
Reply:Drop tank is only way. did you check to make sure the guage is working properly. Make sure tank is as empty as possible, spilled gas sux even more

Reply:check the ground wire. Should be just in front of the fuel tank attached to the body crossmember
