reverse does anyone know why it dosent do it all the time and gerks slighly when slowing down ?

it sounds like a clutch barrel is faulty or a brake band is fault iam sorry this is internal and will require a stall test

Hi when was the last time the gearbox oil/filter was changed? i have had many autos over the years and if your bands were slipping you would have a drive problem it could be the auto clutch assembly but that is a specialist an expensive job so try changing the transmission oil and filter first and see what difference that makes first if that fails then you will need to seek specialist advice but also try and find a good second hand box to keep as a spare if you intend to keep the car for a long time
